This is not greenfield in the sense of a blank page. It is better than that: a real system, with real regulated customers, a domain that already works, and the freedom to rebuild it properly. The person who does this work will shape how the platform scales for the next three to five years.
About working with us:
Ripltec is a Sydney-based multi-tenant SaaS company building AI-assisted professional credentialing and accreditation infrastructure. Our platform serves professional bodies, higher education quality assurance agencies, and skilled-migration assessing authorities across Australia and Europe. We are a start-up at an early but funded stage, with an international sales pipeline and a product that sits at the intersection of AI, regulatory compliance, and professional recognition.
We are educators. Ripltec exists because professional recognition is broken. A migrant engineer whose qualification isn't recognised. An accountant whose competency can't be verified across borders. We think the fix is the layer underneath, infrastructure other organisations build on, not another platform competing for attention.
We care. About the product, about the clients, and about each other. This isn't a job you'll do with one eye on the clock, and we don't want it to be.
We want people who enjoy healthy debate. Challenging the leadership team and each other is part of the job, not a risk to your career here. What we won't tolerate is doing it unkindly or doing it in the corridor afterwards. We take the same view of mistakes: every company makes them, and a company that makes none isn't learning. The discipline is catching them early and working through solutions together on how to move forward, which is only possible on a team where people say what they think in the room and build on each other’s experience.
That means we're flat on ego and rigorous on process. Nobody here says "that's not my job." Nobody here compromises on a control that a regulator will audit.
We run a lean, technically ambitious team. Our development environment is built around Claude Code, which gives our developers high leverage without sacrificing quality. We are not a feature factory. We build defensible, enterprise-grade infrastructure intended to operate in regulated environments.
The role:
We are looking for a hands-on senior full stack developer. This is a staff contributor role: you will write code every day, contribute proactively to consequential decisions about system design, and mentor other developer(s) as required. You will not manage a team.
We have one platform in production, built on Outsystems, serving live clients. Over the next three months we are migrating to a full stack Azure build and adding new tools alongside it. The roadmap is written. It is not yet delivered; we want you to be part of that. It’s an exciting time to join us.
This is not greenfield in the sense of a blank page. It is better than that: a real system, with real regulated customers, a domain that already works, and the freedom to rebuild it properly. The person who does this work will shape how the platform scales for the next three to five years.
We will be growing the development and support teams. We are hiring specialists so that you can stay a developer. It also means the architecture you set now will be inherited and challenged as the team grows, we think that is a reason to build it well, not a reason to hold back.
You will report to our Head of Product and Technology, and work directly with the leadership team.
What you will own:
- Day-to-day development of a multi-tenant, Azure-hosted SaaS platform serving professional bodies, quality assurance agencies, and assessing authorities
- Meaningful input into architecture, security, and data isolation decisions, alongside our Head of Product and Technology
- Building with an awareness of the regulatory obligations our clients carry — GDPR, the EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 17024, Privacy — and knowing when a decision needs a compliance conversation rather than an engineering one
- Integration with third-party credentialing systems, CRMs, HRIS platforms, and digital credential networks
- Liaising with third party contractors as required
- Mentoring and technical direction for our other developer(s)
- The migration from current tech stack OutSystems , transferring the data model, API design, and the sequencing that keeps live clients running throughout
What we need:
Non-negotiable
- Demonstrable experience building enterprise SaaS at scale, ideally on Azure
- Multi-tenant architecture: data isolation, security design, and compliance-aware API patterns
- Genuinely full stack — database schema through to front end, not one layer
- Ability to leverage, embed and lead on AI-based technologies, while applying sound engineering principles and experience
- SQL and relational database design at enterprise scale
- Has migrated a production system with live customers on it, and can talk about what went wrong
- Has mentored junior developers, not just reviewed their PRs
- Writes code every day and wants to keep doing so
- Full working rights or Australian resident, and Sydney-based
Strongly preferred
- Exposure to AI-integrated applications, agentic workflows, or LLM-assisted development tooling
- Experience in a regulated industry — professional services, financial services, or education
- Familiarity with credential verification systems, identity infrastructure, or digital wallets
- Azure certifications or demonstrable Azure-native development experienceTech Stack - Required
Tech Stack - Required
- Claude code and agents
- .NET 10/ C# 14 / ASP.NET Core
- Next.js (App Router)
- React + TypeScript
- Tailwind CSS
- PostgreSQL
- Azure Container Apps
- Docker and GitHub Actions
- Clean Architecture or DDD in production
What we offer:
- Competitive compensation package +$200,000 including ESOP, details on application
- ESOP participation from your start date. Options vest against performance milestones agreed with the Board rather than on tenure alone, and the allocation is set at a senior technical level. We will talk you through the full terms at offer stage.
- Hybrid working in Sydney, three to four days in our Pyrmont office, a small team making architecture decisions in front of a whiteboard, with flexibility when you need it
- A migration and a rebuild on a product and roadmap that does not exist anywhere else in this form
- AI-assisted development already in place: less grunt work, more architecture
- Direct influence over technical direction, with a short line to the CEO
- A developer to mentor, without the people-management overhead
How to apply:
Attach 1 documents containing 2 sections:
1. your CV or LinkedIn profile
2. a brief note answering these 3 questions
We are not looking for a formal letter. We are looking for a paragraph or two on the kind of systems you have built, and what drew you to this role.
We will ask all applicants three short questions before the first interview:
- Show us how you architect and build. A public repository, a design document, an architecture diagram, or a system you'll walk us through on a whiteboard — whatever best represents your thinking. We know the most interesting work is often the work you can't show us, and we're happy to talk about it instead of look at it.
- Describe the most complex multi-tenant or enterprise SaaS system you have worked on. What were the hardest architectural tradeoffs you made?
- What does your current development workflow look like, and where does AI tooling fit into it?
