ABOUT US
Ripltec is a joint venture between Incept Labs and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).
The IPA and its members use our technologies in a variety of ways:

MEET THE TEAM

Mark Runnalls
Chief Executive Officer
Mark leads the team and is working closely with the Board to execute the organisational strategy for Ripltec to help millions of learners around the world unlock skills and empower futures. He has worked in Australia and the UK at senior levels for over thirty years across the government, education, consulting, property and technology sectors. Formerly a partner in EY Australia, where he was National Director of Innovation.

Dr David Allen
Chief Knowledge Officer
An experienced researcher and scientist in the fields of health, education, data and applied ontology, David brings a human-centric and scientifically rigorous approach to Ripltec’s technology development and business philosophy.

Carlos Rozo
Technology Lead
Carlos is a technology lead who builds transformative software and empowers teams to do their best work. For over 25 years, he has delivered data and digital projects across Latin America, Australia, and the MENA region. At Ripltec, he leads product and engineering — shaping the software, setting standards, and guiding the team day to day. He works with both established and emerging technologies taking a people-centered approach and championing the transformation of individual competency assessments. A strong believer in leading by example, he creates the conditions for excellence: clear goals, steady routines, and practical coaching. For users, he keeps the software simple, fast, and reliable so they can get their job done with minimal effort.

Yasmina Verwohlt
Chief Marketing Officer
At Ripltec, Yasmina drives the brand and marketing strategy that’s shaking up the world of skills recognition. With 20 years' experience branding global Fortune 500s and launching category-defining B2B tech innovations, she’s building Ripltec’s marketing engine from the ground up. Her focus: go-to-market strategies thatmeet urgent needs, drive traction fast, and scale through smart partnership marketing. She builds thought leadership and a brand experience that disrupts old-school thinking and empowers a uniquely diverse audience — from regulators, professional bodies and educators to enterprises and lifelong learners.

Robert Cooper
Company Secretary
Robert is the Company Secretary for Ripltec working with the Board of Directors and CEO. With a background in IT and law, Robert has worked at Incept Labs for over a decade as a social researcher and consultant.

Dr Robert Kay
Founder & Director
Rob is the Founder and Director of Ripltec and Managing Director of Incept Labs. Prior to this he was Head of Strategic Innovation at Westpac Banking Corporation. Rob has co-authored multiple studies on leadership, innovation, and education. He has been involved in numerous school transformation evaluations in Australia and Malaysia, including multiple studies of Indigenous education. Rob also leads an ongoing research partnership between Incept Labs, UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, and Monash University. Robert holds a first-class honours in experiential curriculum design, and his PhD involved the application of biological systems theory to improving learning and resilience in organisations.

Andrew Conway
FIPA, Director
Andrew is one of two IPA directors on the Ripltec Board. He is also Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Public Accountants. Prior to working with the IPA, Andrew was an Australian Government Treasury Ministry Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor. Andrew is also a Professor of Accounting at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and serves as Adjunct Professor at Deakin University Business School. Additionally, he serves on the Department of Foreign Affairs Ministerial Advisory Council on Free Trade Agreement Negotiations, and has served on IFAC advisory groups.

Brett Maloney
FIPA FFA, Director
Brett is currently the Chief Operating Officer of the IPA and one of two IPA appointed directors on the Ripltec Board. Prior to joining the IPA Brett held senior finance roles in Australia and the UK obtaining commercial experience in engineering, manufacturing, distribution and service sectors in both privately held and listed companies. Brett is a Fellow of both the Institute of Public Accountants, the Institute of Financial Accountants (UK) and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He joined the IFAC PAO Development & Advisory Group in January 2025.
